It has been a roller-coaster ride for the DataMunch team. We won first-prize at Startup Weekend Adelaide in November 2012. Soon after, we were accepted into the ANZ Innovyz START program. We registered our company and have been working away vigorously ever since. It has been a phenomenal ride!
Throughout the program, we had mentors fly-in from all over the world. They came into the program to spend time with the 10 companies that had been selected for their fast-growth potential.
The ride hasn’t been easy. We worked incredibly hard to get the company to where it is today. I believe that DataMunch is in a fantastic position to move forward, attract investment and rapidly grow – to make data easy and accessible to everyone.
Two weeks ago, I decided that Demo Day was a good milestone to leave the DataMunch team. The next 12-18 months in the DataMunch timeline will be primarily focused on technology development, based out of Adelaide. I have decided that travel is on the horizon and that the team is in a good position to move forward without me. As such, today is my last day with the team.
As I move forward and continue my entrepreneurial adventures, I look forward to the day when DataMunch can answer my data questions.
To be totally honest, I don’t know. I’m about to graduate from the Bachelor of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the University of Adelaide. After that, I’m keen to get my hands dirty. Whether it’s a gig at a kick-ass entrepreneurial company, project work, consulting, speaking or research – there are a number of options I’m weighing up. I’m keen to fit in a bit of travel too!
I’m always on the lookout for new challenges. If you’re working on or planning something awesome, and you think we should work together, get in touch.
On a final note, huge congratulations to the companies that have just graduated from the ANZ Innovyz START program. It has been an awesome ride – one that we’ll always remember!
